The Export and Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO) aims to contribute to the development of innovative Danish companies with growth potential. We do this by collaborating with various partners who share our vision and want to invest in the Danish startup ecosystem with us. Important partners for us are various investors, including business angels, family offices, syndicates, and small fund managers such as early venture capitalists.
We collaborate with investors from many different industries and with very different backgrounds. With a broad group of investors, we aim to reach many startups and ensure great diversity in the portfolio—also for startups that find raising capital challenging. For this reason, we collaborate with a wide range of specialised investors on numerous investments.
For us, business angels are important actors in the ecosystem, as they help shape future companies through their expertise, market insight, and invested capital. Business angels are typically the first investors in a startup. We see them as central actors in the ecosystem who can unlock startups' potential with their expertise, capital, and network.
Our business angels become our investment partners; they find deals and are actively involved in our joint investment company. They have various backgrounds, including former operators, C-level and family office executives, et cetera. What they have in common is that they share our values and have experience with venture capital.
Match Loan
Through our Match Loan, we allow our investors to have their investment in a startup matched with a loan, 1:1.
Through the Match Loan, EIFO will also take a risk in the early-stage company you invest in as a business angel. As a business angel, this gives you more leverage to support your investment.
