Export loan strengthen healthcare and Danish business at the Ivory coast

Based on a national development plan, the Ivory Coast has initiated a major investment in the healthcare sector. One of the key projects is “Project Medical Continuation,” which expands and upgrades 43 clinics across the country – both in urban areas and rural districts.

Based on a national development plan, the Ivory cost has launched a major investment in the healthcare sector. One of the key projects is Project Medical Continuation, which expands and upgrades 43 clinics across the country – in both urban and rural areas.

EIFO supports the project with an export loan of EUR 171 million, enabling the construction of 15 new clinics and the upgrading of 28 existing ones previously supported by EIFO. The expansion includes new maternity wards, outpatient units, medical equipment, incineration facilities and wastewater solutions – all contributing to improved healthcare services for the local population.

The financing is provided in cooperation with international partners such as Standard Chartered, the Polish export credit agency KUKE, and the logistics and project company Alliad. The collaboration demonstrates how EIFO works with global partners to create local impact while at the same time promoting Danish exports.

The project generates export orders for Danish companies specialising in healthcare equipment, project management and logistics. Missionpharma A/S and PAA Project Finance A/S lead the effort through framework agreements that secure exports for nine Danish companies. A large share of the deliveries comes from SMEs, supporting growth and employment in Denmark while delivering vital healthcare services at the Ivory coast
