EIFO is making DKK 750 million in financing available to Fire Point’s Danish subsidiary.
The financing follows an agreement between the Danish and Ukrainian governments last year that enables Ukrainian defence companies to establish production in Denmark.
One of these companies is Fire Point, which has established itself near Skrydstrup Air Base outside Vojens, and the financing is a further step towards getting production under way.
“For years, Denmark and EIFO have contributed to Ukraine’s reconstruction and to the fight for freedom in Ukraine. EIFO is currently involved in almost 40 projects that not only support Ukraine here and now but also contribute to stronger cooperation between Ukrainian and Danish partners. The financing for Fire Point is a concrete example of how this effort can take shape,” says Peder Lundquist, CEO of EIFO.
A broad engagement in Ukraine
EIFO’s engagement in Ukraine includes financing the reconstruction of the country’s business sector and infrastructure as well as defence investments.
EIFO has a total capacity of DKK 6.15 billion for activities in Ukraine, and the projects EIFO is involved in span areas such as agriculture, industry, drinking water, wastewater and construction.
Examples of EIFO’s engagement in Ukraine include a loan agreement with the agricultural company Nibulon, an investment in Levitate Technology, which is active in Ukraine and supplies prosthetic legs to war-affected Ukrainians among other things, and participation in the financing of Ukraine’s largest wind farm to date through a project finance guarantee of almost DKK 3 billion.
